Field Supervisor (Trainee)
Field Supervisor
Location: Charleston, SC
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Starting at $24.00 to $25.00 per hour, with growth to $30.00 to $36.00 per hour as you develop into the role
About the Role
This is not a desk job. McCorquodale Transfer is looking for a hands-on leader who wants to build a career, not just have a job. You will start out on the trucks, working side by side with our crews and learning the business from the ground up. As you complete training milestones and prove yourself in the field, you will grow into a Field Supervisor (a skilled operations leader who trains, develops, and mentors crews across our markets).
This role is physical and field based. You will spend the majority of your time on job sites, in client homes, and in warehouses, and you should expect to travel up to 70% of the time, including overnight stays (both inside and outside your market).
What to Expect
- You will begin with a hands-on training period working directly with our crews, learning our equipment, procedures, and safety standards firsthand.
- As you build experience, you will take on more responsibility: coaching Crew Leaders, helping deliver hands-on training, and supporting projects in the field.
- Your pay grows with you. You will start at $24 to $25 per hour and work toward $30 to $36 per hour as you hit training and performance milestones over your first few months.
- Once you are fully promoted into the Field Supervisor role, your pay structure moves to a salaried package with bonus potential.
Once You Are Fully Promoted, You Will:
- Train and mentor Crew Leaders on managing their teams and projects, including crew assignments, job planning, and on-site decision making
- Coach Crew Leaders on customer communication, expectation setting, and professional representation of the company
- Deliver hands-on training for new hires and make sure every team member is certified on required equipment and safety protocols before working independently
- Help build and maintain training content in our Learning Management System (LMS), based on real field experience
- Support pre-planned projects, including site surveys, crew scheduling, and execution through final walkthrough and client sign-off
- Help integrate newly acquired companies onto our systems, standards, and culture
- Travel to support new location launches, operational turnarounds, and other special projects as a member of our Gold Key Team
What We Are Looking For
- Willingness to start hands-on and physical, working alongside our crews on the trucks
- A valid driver's license and the ability to travel up to 70% of the time, including overnight and extended stays
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with crews, customers, and leadership
- Sound judgment and the ability to make decisions quickly under pressure
- Leadership potential. We are looking for someone who wants to grow into developing and mentoring others
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but we will consider an equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience in moving, logistics, installation, or a related field
- Experience designing or delivering training is a plus
Physical Demands
This role requires regular standing, walking, and use of hands and arms, along with occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, or balancing. You should be able to lift and move up to 25 to 50 pounds. Frequent travel by car and/or air is required, sometimes with limited notice.
